What I hope is that it'll be upgradeable for a specail price at some later latime. Since you're working for Nektar, maybe you know more about the 8-Track version? Do we get everything from main version but limited to 8 tracks, or are there other things that are differenet too? I'm thinkng about maybe buying a P1, and get the Bitwig 8-Track to play around with. I can't wait until the modular environment is opened up.Īlso, it cannot be understated, just how cool Claes, Volker, Dom and the whole Bitwig crew are. Modulate any parameter with a step sequencer. The modulation system in Bitwig is really what grabbed me from the start. Bitwig Studio is the single solution for realizing any musical idea across every stage of production. Staying in one environment for all stages of production has been a big workflow boost for me. I had been composing in Live and editing/mixing in Pro Tools but I'm much happier with the editing capabilities in Bitwig. I may be biased but I had been a Live user since just version 4. The new pop-up browser is a huge improvement.įull disclosure I work for Nektar Technology, we work pretty closely with the Bitwig guys. Yeah, part of the reasons why I'm going with three is not only gaming (at least on one), but also because I multi-task like crazy >.> While I dont necessarily need 3 monitors, Im swapping my desktop to triple 27 1440p displays (as opposed to my current dual 21.5 1080p displays). And three 27" displays at 1440p is just wonderful, because not only is it symmetrical, but also 27" monitors wouldn't look tiny on my desk sandwiched between two 5U cabinets and my computer's case ^_^ Thankfully, Asus is coming out with a new monitor in a few months (their RoG Swift), which is a nice 120+ Hz screen, has g-sync (variable monitor refresh rate, which makes it great for gaming), and is a delightful middle ground for clarity at 2,560x1440 (aka 1440p). 4k is too high for gaming (with the current generation of cards anyways), and 1080p, while nice, is not quite what I want for resolution. At this time, you can only get 1080p or 4k screens in that size. I'd go with 24" displays, but unfortunately the biggest "flaw" I hold against them is their lack of resolution choices.
